Short Research Description

We study how mutations in proteins involved with contraction affect the cardiac function and lead to the development of hypertrophic and/or dilated cardiomyopathy. Our goals are to understand basic pathogenesis of inherited cardiac diseases, and develop ways to modify disease course. We employ murine models, engineered cardiac tissue models, and human derived iPS-cardiomyocytes in our studies.
